Service Dog in Training
Canine Companions for Independence

If you stop by our office, you will quickly come to understand the value Saint brings to our team. Saint is a service puppy in training for Canine Companions for Independence (CCI). Canine Companions is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships.

Saint came to us at 8 weeks old after starting off his life in Northern California with a volunteer family dedicated to breeding dogs specifically to become assistance dogs and who began his training at day one. While Christa and Matt are his puppy raisers, his success requires the involvement of our entire office, our clients and our community. Saint brightens everyone’s day with his wagging tail and endless desire to please.

Saint is working on mastering over 30 commands and learning how to behave appropriately in all situations. In August 2017 Saint will return to CCI’s South Central Campus in Irving, Texas to embark on the next phase of his education. In Texas, Saint will spend 6 to 9 months in professional training. Saint hopes that he will successfully complete his professional training and be placed with an adult, child or veteran with a disability to enhance their life, increase their independence and mitigate the challenges of their disability.
